Been rubbing down my headers all day. It amazing what some 180 grit and bit of elbow grease can do.





Not finished yet. I will have the 320 grit out tomorrow.

Not fitted yet, but the aluminium captive wheel spacers arrived for the 2 today.
Cheap mod, save a bit of weight and makes refitting wheels easier.

But I had to put my old Storm petrol filler cap onto the CB600F commuter- the one on it was knackered, and the key kept pulling out instead of opening the cap, so time for a change before it leaves me stranded somewhere if I can't open it!

I just have to carry two keys, but hey.

Anyway the good news is that she passed with no advisories and I have a brand spanking new ticket for another year. I must admit i do like the ride home after a passed MOT test, its somewhat more spirited than the ride there

Not yet their not. Not when I compare them to yours anyway. That's all elbow grease too. I did get the drill out yesterday as I have a small wire brush attachment and wanted to get the little bits around the welds and get rid of the weld splatter and that little bit in the Y piece is well hard to get to. My old Elu drill is dead, brushes have gone as I have sparks firing out of it and the speed has slowed down to grinding halt. Right I'm of out to get some 320 grit on there now before the rain arrives.

Woo hooo done, two days worth of hand polishing. Now they are shiny Went over them with some 320 grit and then 1200 and quick polish with some autosol.

Look at the shine, the have a sparkle too them now You can see the hairline scratches but the pictures make them look worse than what they are. I'm going to coat them in some exhaust lacquer anyhow. They will eventually be getting new gaskets and clamps.











Next it it will be my cans. I think I will go straight on with the 1200 grade wet n dry on the Carbon. I shall see what that comes up like and whether or not I need to go with a heaver grade.

Today I've moved the exhaust clamp and acquired a CnC top yoke with risers and bars! Yay!

Yeah, it's not exactly immaculate as it is so a few bodge cuts here and there shouldn't make a difference ;)

my method was:

1) put masking tape on both sides so you can mark out your intended cut.
2) mark one side only
3) Use a dremmel with 2 cutting disks screwed together to do the cutting, it gives a very clean and controlled cut without melting the plastic.
4) use the cut off section to mark the cut off line on the other side then you have perfect symmetry
5) dremmel the other side
6) dress the cut edges with a smooth file
7) stand back and admire the work.

you will also need to extend the horn wires by about 2" and I had to trim down the harness strain relief on the kill switch so I could move it closer to the throttle tube to get it to miss the fairing.

Got some more polishing done but rain has put a stop to things now.







I'm finding the soft Ally harder to rub down than the headers and having to go in dry with the wet n dry. Lubricant doesn't seem to help. It's taking some serious elbow grease.
