Believe I said on first page main bearings, as long as crank isn't bent at all or scored just check the rest and replace the bearings.
If it aint broke, get your bloody hands off it!

New engine + oil - less wheelies

We'll have joint claim on that one, as we were both typing similar replies at the same time

managed to get another engine, 28k miles on the clock for £200, only problem is one of the engine mounting bolts in the front cylinder is seized in place so have to drill it out.

Is that the long one that runs right through from one side to another. Heat and a big hammer is your friend here. If you look at the top of the engine you will see it runs alongside the coolant bottle right through. Get a blowtorch, butane/propane on it and give it a good hit with hammer and should break free. You will be there forever trying to drill it out.

Be patient and take your time.

Good luck with getting the sucker out,

Or, as the engine is out of the frame, cut along the boss with a hacksaw, let the boss spring open slightly and pull the bolt out, then reweld it.
Quick and foolproof, and you can't miss with the hammer and put dents into formerly undented things.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

i had surging on my last engine i think it turned out to be the plugs, i really need some quieter exhausts though :( these ones are far too loud! or some 2.5" db killers.
