Master Cylinder (brake)

Post by alan »

I am wanting to upgrade the front brake master cylinder i know its been said before of the upgrade to rc51.
I just have a couple of questions: i have 929 calipers and braided hoses but have not had the chance to try as my bikes not finished will a ducati 996 master cylinder or 929 be a better upgrade than the stock item?

I have searched for a rc51 master but without success your advice would be appreciated
thanks Alan

P.S.what bore is the stock item and what bore should i upgrade to?

I believe that the 929 and RC51 MC are the one and same (both have 19 mm piston diameter). I just fit a RC unit on my VTR and am very happy with the result.

BTW, stock is 14 mm (and 954 is 17 mm)

cheers

Hi Al,

couldn't give you the reply to that one. You can check the owner registries at http://www.micapeak.com as there is a wealth of info there from owners who have modded their bikes. In terms of the MC diameter, try a search on Google, you can surely find the answer there. Good luck :)
