FT mark on flywheel not perfectly aligned

Hi folks,
I'm changing the tensioners on my new (old) storm and I want to check if the timing is correct..this is not the first time I work on an engine head.
anyway after align PERFECLY the FT mark on the flywheel and check the two sprockets I find a little gap In front intake and front exhaust marks.
Anyone did ever notice this wih a 70000 engine?
do I need a new chain?
the rear cylinder match perfectly the marks
the bike run perfect...

That's normal,mine is exactly the same

Yes I agree, that sounds fine to me as well. So long as you can't move the cam sprocket by one tooth to correct it, then leave it as it is. You'll probably find it's out by half a link or so, so not enough for it to be out by one tooth,

Over many miles, the cam chain stretches slightly, allowing for a slight misalignment in the cams. This is normal.

My 70000km VTR was exactly the same: this is the sprocket alignment, with the crank timing mark set exactly.

mine is the same...intake cam seems off by a tooth
now the question is:
why the rear cyl marks match perfecly?

They are all like that I confirmed it exehaust should look a little screwy. Can someone take a photo of the FT mark on the flywheel. My camera says no it wont take that photo.

I think the misalignment in the front cylinder is made by the CCT pushing on the intake plastic slider.Infact the rear cylinder is perfectly aligned due to the CCT pushing on the exhaust slider. I think is possible to drill an hole, and reposition the front cylinder tensioner on the exhaust side (like the rear cyl).

I always wanted to Slot the cam sprockets on mine when I noticed the same but never got around to it.
Has anyone done it?
I know it's only a couple of degrees but it might be worth a Hp or two.

The tensioner has to be on the back side of the chain run (intake side on front head, exhaust side on back head) due to the direction of rotation of the chain; the tensioner has to be on the "loose" side, as the chain is pulled straight between the drive and driven sprocket on the tight side.

Still makes no sense to me why the front chain and back chain should align slightly differently.
