I'll explain just for you Pete

I am going to renew my brake and clutch fluid, by undoing the bleed nipples and pumping the old fluid out using the levers, refilling the reservoirs before they are completely empty. So I was thinking a coloured brake fluid would be a help as I would then be able to see right away when the old fluid has been expelled, only an idea :!:

Sure,
that makes sence. I normally do it that way myself. Normally the old oil goes darker over time so when you see the lighter oil come through it's job done. If the existig oil in there at the moment hasn't gone darker it's probably still alright.

or I can still mix some with some food colouring and send you any colour you fancy

That's probably what I will end up doing, watching for the lighter oil to come through, I just had a brain wave thinking a coloured one would be so much easier to spot :!:

As for your brilliant suggestion of the food colouring  I'm afraid my mrs beat you to it

I've located it on-line and will check out my local bike/motorists shops.

I now that Euro car parts stock the super blue stuff. About £10 or so per litre

Its got a good spec for the money, pretty high dry and wet BP.

For performance i think the best is Castrol SRF, but its about £60 per litre. 8O
