I'm going to turn the key and start the bike today. It's been sitting outside and has not been started in weeks. So a little warm up won't do it any harm and keeps things moving and charged up.
Bit of a kijack this, sorry. What bearing press do you use? I've never been overly happy with using a socket and I haven't got one big enough for the rear wheel on the VTR.fabiostar wrote:One of those messy jobs today, new rear wheel bearings in the wee yamaha. just aswell as one of them fell out in bits

Socket for me never had an issue. Always stick them in the freezer at least 24 hrs before hand... No socket big enough, just use a flat bit of steel, or even a bit of wood, over the bearing & drive it in.
Failing that make a bearing puller, bit of streaded studing, some plates & some nuts...
Ya pillock you put the bearings in the freezer...BigVeeGrin wrote:Why do you put the socket in the freezer??
