2002 SUPERHAWK with 14,000 miles

Post by ta2av »

I have found a 2002 SH locally with 14,000 miles on it and he wants $5300. Is that a fair price and do I need to worry about the high milage? Also when I go to look at it, what are some things I should check out on it besides the usual. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Is the CCT something that I will need to change soon? I keep reading on here that it goes bad on most bikes and that when it goes it might do alot more damage.

Welcome aboard Ta2av :!:

Apart from the usual things to look out for on the purchase of any secondhand bike there's not really that many things that do go wrong with the Firestorm :!: You already mentioned the CCT's, if you've not done so do a 'search' (near top of page) as there's loads of info on them :!:

HTH,

Chris.

PS. Where abouts are you in the world :?:

I am in Illinois, USA. Do not see many of these bikes around here, so not much local information on these bikes. Thanks for the help so for.

Now I know which country you're in I can workout what you will be paying in English pounds

5,300.00 USD United States Dollars = 2,803.04 GBP United Kingdom Pounds

Have a look at this link for UK prices:-

I can't say how secondhand prices go in the USA but perhaps you can find on-line a price guide as I gave you :!: I would say that if the bike has got a full service history that would be the sort of thing I would like, unless of course you know the bike and how it's been looked after or not as the case may be :!: Good luck with it :)

Average retail for a '02 SH in the Chicago area is $4035.00 usd. High retail is $5310.00 usd.

By the way....Greetings from Houston, TX. I just bought a '98 SH with 21k on the odometer. Decided to move further up into the 20th century from the '89 FJ1200 I was riding.
