brake lever feels notchy

brake lever feels notchy when applied gently, what do I check first

Then the master cylinder .
Strip ,clean ,lube and rebuild .

Quite often when I've had this and prepared myself for having to overhaul the master cylinder I've found that it's sorted just by greasing the lever pivot and where it contacts the piston.

Notchy.....what's notchy. I'd be looking at the discs too if this is something you feel through the lever when applied. Try freeing up the bobbins.

thanks lloydie it was grease dried out in pivot bolt all working fine now also fitted some brembo rear pads adjusted chain . due for mot soon think I might have to do bottom link bearing, dreading that.

yes would do Mac but mot runs out in 8 days time. I would asked KevL to help me but he is in Rome living the high life. the yuppie.
