Forks
Forks
Just noticed that one of the seal must have gone on the forks. First thought was to take into the shop but maybe now is the time to get an upgrade - maybe it won't even cost much more than getting the seals replaced at a Honda place.
Heard plenty about Roger at Revolution but looking for something more local, i.e. London way.
Any suggestions?
Also, short of the fireblade/ducati upside-down replacement, what upgrade options are there using the standard forks?

Thanks for the replies.
I was looking for somewhere local as I'm not sure I'm up to the job of removing them myself. However it does seem that Revolution is the place...
The obvious question: How do you support the bike with the forks off?
I've got a rear paddock stand but obviously would need to support the front. Wooden blocks under the engine? Something more substantial?
Rope from the roof of the garage? (it is a rented garage away from where I live so no major mods to the garage allowed!)

forks/jack up front
Hi
if you want to change forks for others, there is a few options depending on what you want to spend you could go with:
older blade forks 97-99 are a straight swap but are not upside just alot beefier fork bottoms.
Ducat front end and change everything like Daz Sear but will need custom yokes have a look at the posting in general chat under MMMMMMnnnnnnn and see what a creation he has done.
or you could go with the blade 929 forks as i have but you need to change averything up front and you need different bars to clear the fairing.
the new blade 1000rr forks have been done but i dont know whats involved.
also i think the sp1 has been done look on superhawkforum.com
Other than these mods try roger as kaz said loads of members on hear have had roger dodger the front and have been very happy as he knows his sh1t about vtr's
Jacking the front can be tricky if you dont have front paddock stand i lift under the engine using trolley jack then sit it down on blocks but you may need a mate to help. Then put axle stands with a piece of wood ontop under both sides of the crankcases this gives it more stability from side to side swaying you can always tie rope from the bike to the rafters above in your garage just to make sure

Jack under the engine will be fine (NB use a bit of wood to avoid damage to the sump)jpickup wrote: I've got a rear paddock stand but obviously would need to support the front. Wooden blocks under the engine? Something more substantial?

AS LONG AS YOU DON'T REMOVE THE REAR WHEEL
The weight of it keeps it nice and steady (found that out the hard way!)
Top tip, loosen the pinch bolts before you take ALL the weight off the front
I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!
