Regulator /Rectifier...or as its know around here the Rectumfrier...Geeman wrote:Hi...change the r/r...what does that mean...???
The black oblong block 3 yellow wires 1 red 1 green... Take the electical juice from the generator, regulates & rectifeies it before sending it to the battery... If it fails, & those ones do due to heat cycles over time...It can overcharge the battery, boil the battery dry, melt the wiring, screw ya clocks up, burn ya elbow...
You need to fit either a latter fined type from either a late model Storm or a host of other Hondas or splash some cash & fit a Mossfet type...
A later model finned type yesterday...

When asked about it's older relatives it replied...'They are shite dude, buy me & stop worring about a failure...Oh & as long as your block conector is not a melted wreak I'm plug & play''...
Cue Wicky & his Sh*t R/R pic...

Re: Newbee
Hello and welcome! I got my manual ones from Ade and would recommend them.
Re: Newbee
Hi again
Ordered cam chain tensioners from Ade. Fitted Renthal rear sprocket. Clutch and brakes bled and now working fine. New in tank filter fitted. Getting it road ready and MOT'd then during the winter i will repaint calipers...forks and get swingarm polished or powdercoated. Getting it booked in at Biketec in Stoke for setting up and tuning and fitting the cam chain tensioners...dont trust myself...

Re: Newbee
Well its all back together and running well. Doesnt look much different to the first photo i put on here. But its cleaner...all the dodgey wiring has gone and now sorted...the dodgey indicators sorted...the only problem is i think the clutch reservoir is leaking slightly. Oh and the headlight is rubbish.
Re: Newbee
Welcome aboard Geeman

Chris.

Re: Newbee
That must be costing a fortune. You would save quite a bit by doing the ccts
If you don't try you never know if you can do it.
Re: Newbee
hi there...
I know where you are coming from but at the end of the day if I mess it up the engine is toast. The guy is very good and I don't feel confident fitting them and he has done them before. The bike cost me £1250 with a load of bits including a Abba stand which I have sold for £50 all the other bits will be up for sale. It hasn't cost much so far...proberbly in it for £1400 at the moment. I have a set of wheels with very good tyres which I might swap for the scrubbed tyres that are on at the moment...extra rear light...top yoke and straight bars...I am doing it to keep so I want it running right...thanks.

Re: Newbee
Nice use of circular saw blades on the wheels You have a bit of a Blue Flame theme going on with your bikes. I'm guessing the cans where part of the deciding factor when purchasing. What's HECKS? You may regret getting rid of the Abba stand.
