The lead screw needs to be metric or English to cut screw threads.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

The tester couldn't care less whether it's noisy or not as he's closing down on 9th September.

I keep having the same thoughts rob, as you always need to knock up spacers for ever project.... But those hobby lathes you can get are a bit sh1t, so getting hold of a proper old apprentice schools type lathe is a real find.

I want one now

ay i was warned about getting the new hobby lathes. they are a bit lightweight..been meaning to get one for years as you say.they are a handy we thing. i hunted round a few facebook lathe pages and this one came up. they can be had for little money but you have to be quick,as soon as they come up for sale they go that day..

Nice one Rob...now all you need is some Titanium to play with. Some Ti wheel and swingarm spindles would be nice :biggrin For something a bit smaller and on a more serious note some Ti bolts that go into the chain adjusters would be a good thing as these always rust. They could also do with an allen head as an option milled into the bolt head too.
