Saw a SP2 today, was in a truck at the time ( anything was better than working in the warehouse today) and must admit it looked great, so its got my vote....I like the lack of cct... how ever my back probably wouldnt handle the ride position, having said that, ive never sat on one to try it out. Money no object? I reckon i could make it comfy enough.

It's never given me any back twinges 8O
But I will admit to a numb throttle hand after a couple of hours. It's fine on the open road but definatley wrist heavey around town.

Put my elbow on one yesterday and GSXR..............GSXR was really comfy and fitted me perfect, very light too.
The SP had rock hard seat, higher pegs, lower bars and felt heavier.

which ? well SP still looks better. the one I looked at was £6399 both tyres worn smooth and ragged at edges, no tread left at all, hero blob snapped off at base, under exhaust pipes rusted. shock a bit tarnished.

walked away.............think it might have been track thrashed.
right move ?..............well don't know but seems over priced and sure i CAN FIND BETTER........... whoops..........caps, where did that come from.

New SP2 £8,135................divorce............priceless

Good thinking Pete

Paul, I can't really say which bike I'd go for if money was no object, as I've not ridden the lastest GSXR1000 or the SP2. I've always thought I'd fancy getting the SP2, but mainly because there's a brand new one for sale in one of our local bike shop's and it looks stunning, but I would need to ride one first if the option every came up :!:

I think Curly came up with an answer that would most match mine :!:

Also I think personal choice goes a long way when it comes to picking a motorcycle,

Chris.

Hmmm... I have ridden both ( well all 3 as I own a storm ) and the gsxr is very nimble, fast and pretty comfy too. The SP2 felt more like a race bike with stiffer forks shock and harder seat. However, i have just bought an sp1 in castrol race colours and it has the front and rear suspension sorted and the seat is actually pretty comfy ( for an hour at least ) so it can be improved.
As soon as I read about the dangers of drinking too much, I immediately gave up reading.

I would be looking to add another bike to the stable to go along side my storm.
hence something like the benelli which is just pretty and very high maintenance (and thay say motorcylces are not like women )
