Hi....went to run the bike this morning and starter motor turned over but bike won't start and after approx 10 secs of trying get a loud single knock-clunk from the bike....what could be the cause.
For info bike ran great last time started approx 6 weeks ago.....up on stands and connected to an optimate.....never had any starting issues

Clunk is normal with a week battery .
Re: Bike turns but won't start
Have just checked battery and was sitting as per honda recommendations for fully charged 13.2volts.......so gave it another go an hey presto started as usual......so just strange or a battery on its way out

Re: Bike turns but won't start
Cold/freezing weather starting esp after a long lay up will stress the battery. Charge it back up and turn it over for a second or three - switch off and rest it and then apply choke / no throttle and try again. If you flood it rest it again for 5 minutes to clear.
If you haven't done so already check under the rubber hood on the starter motor and check the terminal for corrosion / grease it up.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I Always keep the battery in the warm if I’m parking it up for a while .
