Unfortunately as usual with this meeting it falls too close to the family holiday to Cornwall for me to attend, in fact this year because of the slip back it is bang on the same time we go down there.
Anyway for what it's worth I'd just like to point out that we did the Bunkhouse thing last year at the Wales meeting, I would strongly advise it over camping, everyone who attended really enjoyed it and said how much more convenient and easier it was.
You don't have to carry hardly anything with you, no pitching and de pitching, no messing about with brewing or cooking, you can guarantee that if you get wet on the ride you have a nice warm dry base to go back to, you don't have to mess about going out to find something to eat, which in turn gives you more ridding time.
You basically turn up with your bike, a soap bag and a change of clothes, and at the end when you're leaving, just pick up your bag and go.
To be honest it's a win win, even if the attendance is low and you end up paying £50 each it's still great value.
I'm a big fan of camping, but for the bike meetings I think the Bunkhouse is a better option, so much so I've booked and paid the deposit for the Bunkhouse for this years Wales meeting.

Kev,
That's my thinking too, so I will push forwards to see what options there is in the local area.

but as you, Popkat & Gabi have found out, now you need people to commit to the event early, and put some cash on the table, which is not easy!

and to that end I just checked the thread to see who had said they were going to come: and its only got me, Grumpy Stu, Fabio & 2 mates and the usual empty promise from Macdee :D . so at best 5 names :(

I imagine we will also get the other usual suspects:
KermitleFrog and at least 2?
Ziggy
PeteL
Gabi
Mike2000VTR [but he might stay in his camper van]
countrymick

so projection of 12 for the bunkhouse

any other potential interest? these are epic roads and very low traffic, you wont go home without a big stupid grin on your face

Bunkhouse has availability that weekend [Friday, Saturday, Sunday night], if we don't fill the bunkhouse we would be paying £18 per person per night [but they may rent out the other rooms so we don't have it to our selves], so not having 20 people is not going to be a big financial problem.

so if you are staying for the long weekend = £54 for 3 nights,
Friday and Saturday only should be £36 as long as we can do a deal on some staying for a shorter time.

if you consider that the campsite was about £10 per tent per night this is not a big extra cost.

I will start chasing the usual suspects for some commitment and put a booking on the bunkhouse once I have some numbers

Thanks for the text Ali,
just let us know when you want a deposit/cash. As much as I love camping I'm quite happy to swing either way and I'm sure Ian can always put his little erection up in the car park if he really needs to
:D
