Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Ben done a write up a couple of weeks ago on brighter bulbs, have a search back.

Rich.

I've got Philips Vision Plus on my FJR, and they are noticeably brighter. one of the bulbs went 'pop', my lbs didn't have a Vision-plus in stock, so I stuck a Vision-plus-alike in. The FJR has a twin headlight, so I could see them side by side and it was obviously less bright than the proper Philips one.

I had HIDs on a previous car which really are night abd day (excuse the pun) over ordinary bulbs.
I second the proper vision + bulbs, they are definatly much better than than standard.
Be aware that some of the bulbs out there have coating on them to alter the colour of the light. This has the obvious effect of reducing the amont of light emitted from the bulb.
