Well the bike has been christened

Post by zzr600e1 »

Well, took the day off work to enjoy my leisure time and what you know, approached a roundabout, entered so roundabout in the correct lane, just as a big 4x4 entered as well without looking right (looked like a 65yr old woman). ANyway, she decided to just keep looking straight forward, I though oooohh shhhiiiiiiit, broke, realised i would hit her straight in the middle unless i accelerated as fast as I could, thought in that in that split second i was safe, was i fook, she caught my left side exhaust which made the bike sit upright, just in time for me to hit the throttle hard, causing the vtr to straighten up and i managed to pull over about 50yrds up the road. Well I got off the bike expecting her to stop as well, well did she fook, I was busy looking over what damage I may possibly have all the while the stupid bitch fooked off and never even bothered to stop. The damage I thank god for was a slight bent exhaust hanger which I straightened no problem so no damage, although at 20-30mph it craps you up a bit. I was well peeved at this point and went on a search but to no availe, so I honestly think what a bloody lucky escape. I honestly think someone was up there looking after me lol, anyway I have calmed down now after 8 cans lol, it could have been so much worse.

I think the attitude of the modern biker is abysmyl to say the least, never mind dodgy car drivers. We end up so vigilant out of all other road users we could fly jets with our eyes closed lol

well, I'll add my five-eighths worth also...

I christened the bike last month. After 10,000 miles of daily usage in the last year, I had a similar trouser filling experience travelling to work on a dual carriageway. Fortunately it was rush hour so traffic was probably doing no more than 20mph. Woman in a jag moved to left hand lane without looking just as I was filtering through. She did signal however and I just managed to change direction with the jag, and hit it just behind the front wheel, and then braced the bike by leaning against the jag with my knee and elbow! Managed to stay upright, and get over to the hard-shoulder, where she did have the good grace to join me. Of course she said "So sorry, I just didn't see you...", but to be fair she was pretty shaken up.

I got away with a broken RH indicator, and a few scratches on the fairing; the jag looked much worse, so we went our separate ways.

I should deffo have done the lottery that day!

More than can be said for the poor barstid I stopped for last Thursday pm on the A13. Guy on a ZX9R had already stopped - saw it happen - apparently the rider just pulled out onto a van. Bike (GT750 I think) travelled another 100 yards, and the van just beyond that. A couple of drivers were talking to him, and emergency services were on the way, so little I could do and went on home. Found out from my brother (plod) that the guy didn't make it.

Be careful out there peeps, and even in this heat wear the right gear.
