vtr wont rev....help

Hi anybody help me ..........bought a vtr and well pleased....Than sudenly it started to play up......It wont rev past 7000 rpm under load ,Did check air filter ect, But no joy can anybody help

Are there any dodgy noises?

Did it suddenly start happening or gradually?

I cant help with the mecanics but normally youll get asked for more info to guide the techy *coff*ben*coff* guys in there...
