morning all,
just bought a firestorm, 2000 model with the loudest micron system i have ever heard, fantastic to ride.
one thing that i want to do is install a set of crash bobbins, i am bit worried about those rads on teh side if i ever drop it!
does anyone know which are the best adn easiest to install. I heard that some of them involve cutting bodywork.

Hi
yes the storm is loud with microns on
as for mushrooms i know that Double Hard ones bolt straight on no cutting but look abit ugly i thought when i had some R&G do them not sure if you have to cut anything but GS Moko ones which are probably the most expensive does require you to cut but there are loads on the market.

Could try Bike Design bobbins ( Rhencullen do them for £113 ). I had some on my ZX6R, they have a sub frame and don't reguire body mods. Some of the 6R website 'tested' them and they worked pretty well and they saved my side panels when i did a tight u turn on my drive just as the engine cut out

My, they've neatened those up a bit from when I bought them
Mine are like a pair of bloomin wings!!!

However, I prefer them over the Motrax ones for a couple of reasons
1) They have their own bracket which looks stronger than the crappy Motrax mount
2) They mount further forward. I rode a bike with motrax ones on and was constantly twatting my knees
3) No modification of fairing required. More importantly for me you can remove the fairing without having to remove the bungs

I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!
