give me the horn!

Post by feef »

went out for a gentle blat the other night to cool down (armoured under-vest thing, undet a hoodie, not ideal, but better than nothing)..

riding along I could hear a gentle 'tink' noise every so often. sometimes happened in the straights, sometimes under braking..

Sounded like it was coming from the forks. which got me worried.

Nothing serious tho, bloody horn had snapped off it's mounting and was swinging about by it's wires, pinging the fork legs. :|

looking at it, it didn't rust off, it's a nice clean flex/fatigue break. I wonder if it was fouling something to flex it when I moved the bars, or does this happen with the vibes?

I doubt it!!
Mine has been bent into an S-shape to clear the track fairing and still not snapped

Still, now would be a good time to invest in a proper horn like this 136dB monster I've just bought

  my ears hurt
I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!

I originally mounted it in the same place but under extreme braking it just touched the mudguard
Also, it obscured the bottom yoke stem so the front paddock stand wouldn't fit

SOOO
It is now mounted on the inner fairing panel just next to the headlight

Loud cans save lives??? My butt, its a big horn you need!!

I would never want to post something involving "my butt" and a "big horn" in the same sentence :s
