Legal ins and outs of de-catting
https://www.whitedalton.co.uk/motorbike ... -cat-chat/
I read this and it made me wonder about the VFR800 I've just bought. For newer bikes the article suggests the chances of being caught are next to nil but de-catting is illegal.
The stock exhaust on the 5th Gen VFR is no longer available so the only option when they rot is an after market one without a cat. So it appears that my aftermarket SS system is illegal and yet I can't do anything to change that, even if I wanted to. How does that work?

Marty's ranchero has also been decatted.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Good to see the cat Marty
It looks pretty scary with what I take to be smoke in the 3rd and 4th photo's.
Thanks for posting the pic's,
Chris.

the pictures with the smoke was about 10 mins before we evacuated, 6 days later and the fire has only just been extinguished
not sure the exact amount of acres burnt, iirc 7000 acres.
I got a loving 30 minute cuddle from our cat today. which means a lot, as he's not that sort of cat.
we still have to be wary of spot fires, vigilance is the key.
we now have go bags packed. just in case.
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!

Phew!
So glad you’ve managed to get through it Marty. Let’s hope it settles down and that’s it for the summer

That is amazing to see actual photo's of what you were facing just before you evacuated, scary stuff without a doubt, I can't imagine how you must have been feeling on that day.agentpineapple wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 11:08 pmthe pictures with the smoke was about 10 mins before we evacuated, 6 days later and the fire has only just been extinguished

I think your cat must appreciate you being back together
As Pete said, I hope you have no more to deal with.
Really glad you're still with us,
Chris.
PS. Sorry Nick, I think we've gone off topic again
Re: Legal ins and outs of de-catting
late to the subject ........ and not even the original subject! ... looks like Tonys cat joke has derailed the whole thread
1) thank feck the cat survived, otherwise Tonys Joke, all be it very funny, would have been in bad taste
2) marty, that must have been scary times for you and your family ... I hope you are all OK

Sorry, Marty, couldn't help myself...
It's good that you're all safe, now the repairs and rebuilding starts, I guess?
