It's ok, you can still ride it like a complete butt, same as any other bike.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Stripped the donor bike down to a bare engine ready for transplant.

Cleaned the crud of the front and rear callipers on Cruella and got them operating smoothly, then fitted new pads front and rear. Went around it with the spanner’s checking it was all secure. Then started to clean it up a bit, but you can’t really polish a turd

Still just sitting and waiting on back ordered valve springs......

Loud pipes don't save lives, knowing how to ride your bike will save your life.

Operation 17” wheel started
The ktm Has a huge 30mm front spindle , so the 47x25x12 bearings are being replaced with 47x30x9 bearings.
Turned up a 47x 38x3mm spacer to go under the Datum bearing that is held in by the circlip, and will turn up an 30mm ID internal spacer tube, to go between the bearings, that is 6mm longer. That way the outer face of the opposite bearing in the same place as the the out going part.
Just need the steel tube to arrive.

And yes, I am going to have a cast wheel In the front and a spoked one on the back

Do you intend to fit stiffer front springs?
Under braking the front end will compress and the bike's attitude will be more nose down, you might find that the back tries to lift more than normal under heavy braking.

I will drop the forks as far as I can through the yokes to lift the front a bit, but a few people on the KTM forums have done it without stability issues

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
A bit late to say this
but what about getting a 17" hoop laced onto the KTM hub so you keep both wheels the same?

the older i get,the faster i was

Got the new engine in the race bike. It's not ready to run yet but it's just a case of cleaning the carbs and bolting a few bits on and I can see how a box-fresh stage 2 motor compares with my old one.

Bearing internal spacer done (top one new, bottom original) and the Disc spacer skimmed down.

bigger of the 2 wheel spacers done to calculated size.

Old lathe doing ok with home made digital readout

Then painted the internal spacer.

Waiting for a few more bits then will commission a special set of ABS rings for both back and front wheels with different number of spokes to compensate for the front rotating faster.

More measuring and spacer making tonight.
Then fitted the 2nd wheel brg now the spacer paint has dried.
Looks tiny with no tyre!!

And started to clean the front callipers but looks like at least one piston has a chunk of the coating flaked off from corrosion, so need to get more spares
And then the joy of refilling the brake fluid on a bike with ABS!
