hi all i need some advice, i have a meta system m300rc alarm / immobiliser fitted, and last week i bought a new battery exactly the same as the old one which was on the way out anyway, the new one was fully charged as per instructions and i went out last sunday for a 70 mile spin, then along came work so used the car, at home today i tried to start the bike and OMG almost flat battery, i had clock lights, indicators but not enough power to start the bike, and recently i helped to fit an R6 R/R also a new starter celanoid, but getting to my question would the alarm alone drain a battery in a matter of 4 days, if so, i want to take it off or disable the fcuk'n thing, anyone got any idea how to do this or is it a job for an alarm fitting shop, also thinking of getting a optimate for the bike, but it is not garaged but is securely locked in back garden under a bike cover, is there a way to use the optimate in this situation

Best guy I know to ask would be this one:
Blackie's Rivington Bikers Meta post
Though chances are good someone on here knows too, this guy's a Meta and electronics engineer.

Unless you have access to a volt meter with a DC amps setting you are stuck. You could just disconnect the alarm and see if that cures it but it would probably be nice if you could read the current usage and see if it's beyound the spec meta have set for the alarm or if you have a partial short somewhere draining the battery.
All alarms drain the battery a bit so an optimate is the best answer what you need to find out is how fast your particular one will drain the type of battery you have( probably 14aph).
