) they distort if the flange nuts are over tightened the slide sticks. I have ordered new flange gaskets and o ring seals to try and pack it out slightly as it operates ok until it’s tightened up.

I'm guessing you have already run a steel rule or similar straight edge over the mating surfaces to see if they are both flat.

Gave Custurd a much needed wash & brush up, just in time for it peeing down when I go back to work on Wedensday... 
Pulled 3 others out of the MacCave to access tools for...
World War Rusty the Storm. The Battle of the Engine Bolt...
Having previously strategically out manoeuvred the beast with lashings of Plus Gas & successfully removed the castle nuts.
Today saw the deployment of the big guns... well the grinder.
Both mid bolts came out with out a fight.
The rear engine bolt put up a little resistance but surendered to extra leverage & a hammer & punch to get it moving... Slipped it out no problem.
So the top bolt... So I started on the left & used the grinder to cut through the spacer between the frame & motor, once that was through it meant the frame slid sideways giving a gap between the frame & engine mount...Unfortunatly I coudn't use the grinder as the disc was so low I didn't have room to get it in...Brake out the hand saw, found the best blade I had...( Make note I need to shop for some blades & cutting discs...) & cut through in about 10 mins...
Unbolted the oil cooler...
It's over the war is over. Rusty the Storm has unconditionally surrendered to the overwhelming forces at my disposal.
So it's out without any damage to the frame...Shame there are several snapped off bolts tho...
So anyone in need of a spare frame or an engine for spares ?

fought for 3 hours just to change the fork oil on the LC, sweet christ how hard can it be to remove two clips, but sorted in the end

I took the lil Duke out to see how it was on the motorway while running in.....not good, 65mph with the dash flashing RPM warnings so I'll have it run it in on the backroads until I get it serviced at 600 miles and they disable the warning so I can get it up to ton on the motorway if needed. Swapped the top box back off the Duke on to the XSR, and ACF50'd the swingarm/coolant pipes ready for it to resume commuting duties on Monday.
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

Brought the Tuono indoors, it's too cold to work outdoors.
The plan was to wrap the downpipes.
Access is somewhat limited:
There is very little clearance between the two downpipes, and so I had to give the idea up.
A couple of other jobs remained- the New Rage Cycles tail tidy has failed twice now- I really wouldn't recommend that make.
The indicator section has already been replaced under warranty, but now the numberplate light has also failed., so I fitted a couple of LED bolt types.
A bit bright, but it'll now pass the MOT when it's due next year.
The last job was to add some tail stickers. As standard, my 2019 bike didn't have the full set, and there was a scratch on the tail paint. The 2020 tail design had what I thought were better design stickers, in eluding a bit of green.
So I bought a set and stuck them on; they're mostly straight. The tail cover sticker ended up with a small pinhole; so I'll replace that at some stage, but it'll do for now.
