Keep the exit clear please

Post by cupasoop »

Well, Stu is threatening it, Tony is trying it but afraid I've beat them to it.

It's been fun but the papers have been signed and the storm is being replaced on saturday with a nice shiney TDM. Time for something more upright and comfy and if the hour I spent out on the test ride is anything to go by, it's gonna be a laugh.

Can i still be in your gang?
Rich.

Hmmm... A YAMMY??? Are you CRAZY???

Actually, I confess I had a bit of a crush on the ol' TDM prior to my Storm purchase... 8O

After having a few RSI issues with my XJ600, I figured a more upright ride would be appropriate. I had my $$$ in my hot little hand & toddled into the ol' local Yammy dealer. The two salesmen were such chauvenistic pigs, I walked out, straight to the Honda shop 300m down the road & bought my Storm. Never looked back.

When I walked in, one salesman was shuffling papers at his desk & the other was serving a man. There was a young boy (clearly the other customer's son) milling around the shop. The shuffler looked up, caught my eye & went back to his important work. About 10 minutes later, he got up, walked over & asked the lad if he could help him, and when he declined, walked back to his desk. The other guy finished serving, gave me a glance & started his own paperwork. Neither said a word to me for about the 15 minutes I was there.

The salesman/owner of Honda keeps inviting me for dirty weekends... What a difference... lol.

Cupa,

Welcome to the ex storm owners club!!

You'll like the TDM, great for racking up some comfy miles.

They'll be more ex owners on here soon than current owners

I've always had a hankering for one of them supermotos (or is it supermotard?) and although this isnt the real thing, it's in the right direction. Feels like i could have leant the thing over till my elbow was on the ground :D

Anyway, I get it on Saturday so report and impressions after then.
Rich.

I've got a TDM 900 as well, for touring - they are absolutely brilliant. Got mine 15 months old for £3950, Scotolier, alarm, Kapp luggage kit etc. Fitted heated grips and handguards.

Surprisingly quick and nimble - not into sports bike territory, but I can ride all day, get 55 mpg (and 210 miles to a tank) and it corners just fine (no chicken strips on the tyres)

Personally I wouldn't be without a sports bike as well - I am going to change the Storm, after 6 mostly happy years, for a GSXR-1000 linited edition in black/gold.
