Come back buzzer when you start a new build and let us drool over your skills and bikes.
SO WHEN DOES THIS OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER KICK IN
Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build
+2
Well said Pete
A lovely collection you have there
I can't see it's going to be an easy decision on which bike to sell
Chris.
Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build
it was an easy decision to be honest... the one I loved least was the 996 engine bike... so I advertised it and it went after 2 days!
Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build
they were great builds, keep them coming ..... you can try an put 1 Honda VTR part on each build to keep it relevant
was the 996 the one with VTR carbs?

Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build
back working on the remaining orange bike..… one of the problems I had was I couldn’t get to the nuts that held the tank on… not with a spanner, or a socket… but I could get an Allen key up there… but how to make an Allen nut? well I made a couple of nuts out of brass, and made a broach out of an old Allen key by grinding in some steps to take it from round to hex in steps… when it was forced through (big hammer!) as you can see it worked well!
Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build
I never knew that tool was called a broach.
A good idea with the limited access, nice work
Chris.

Re: Well you asked for another Ducati build
If you counter drill from beneath you can glue in a magnet so they will be retained by the Allen key after they're undone.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
