on a serious note. rich.. you could have bought a shiney new red storm for 5K and remained a cool Honda Owner with 2 year warranty etc, etc,
oh well enjoy the new bike..
No, but they do have a quality problem with the paint. It's too soft and keeps coming off. They've also had prblem with early one,s becoming viby. A friend had one and it turned out to be the main bearing shells so Honda replaced it. 600 miles on the replacement one and it happened again. Also have heard of two engine blocks leaking coolant through the castingsRAINMAKER wrote:Tell you what though.............if the cct never failed then I'd get another storm, but I cant justify the risk of blowing an engine, or risking a high speed lock up that might kill me.
anyway..........decided that next bike will be 06 fireblade in black.
now does anyone know if its ccts will be a problem ?

It is an amazing bike, but, as I was riding it down a nice twisty backroad, which I then duplicated on the Storm, I couldn't see how it was an extra £4,500 better - admittedly its faster, but it isn't really because I wouldn't have wanted to be going faster on that sort of road. On A roads, I reckon that touring on the Storm at about the ton is comfortable and I'm able to spot cameras etc - on the GSXR you'd be doing 120 - 130 for the same sensation.
So, I think I'll stay with my old Storm of the last 6 years after all. I have the TDM for touring after all.
Now, a respray in stealth black with gold wheels...................
