After a dreaeded CCT failure I'm now in the process of setting up the timing on my beolved 'storm.
Slight problem I've encountered it I can't get the timing marks to line up exactly.
Is this normal? On the rear cylinder the Inlet cam line up perfectly with teh exhaust maybe half a tooth out (which I haven't touched as it was a front CCT), and the front cylinder I can only get the exhaust mark lining up perfectly with the inlet cam about half a tooth out.
Is this normal or am I missing something obvious?
Timing Question
She seems to be running fine now. As good as before the valves bent anyway!
Managed to keep up with an '04 plate CBR 1000 RR on the way to work yesterday afternoon which surprised. I guess he wasn't pushing it too hard
Going to check her over this morning and make sure there's no leaks or anything obviously wrong.
It's good to have her back!

It's always good to get your bike back on the road, especially when it's summer time, unless you have another bike you can ride in the mean time, unlike me

Just checked her over and she seems fine
No oil in water and visa versa and no leaks. Huge releif!
I have just bought an old 1982 BMW R100RT off my grandad as he can't ride it anymore. It's an old pig but better than nothing while the 'storm was out of action.
Might even keep it for a winter bike. That big old fairing is too much when it's 30 degrees plus outside! Probably ideal for the winter.
For now it will be abandoned facing the wall in the garage until I start to feel the chill or the 'storm dies on me again
