Compressor on VTR?

Post by bluesman »

Probably all remember Ludovic Lazareth Storm engine-based beauty?

Now, for first time I actually read carefully all I can find about this bike.
And here is one interesting thing: it got compressor from Mini Cooper S.
Meaning - it is not turbo, it is actuall compressor (not sure what's right term in English) bike. I think this is something I just have to look into.
Since Mad Max movie times  and one ride I had in old Mercedes I just love engines with compressors - no turbo lag, reasonable HP gain (since some go into driving compressor). Now, this is what I will do to my Storm if Honda will not do something about it in next 2 years.
I am sure this will get Storm to about 135-140 steady rwbhp (with right jetting).

Ohhh...sweeet. I like it...

Just imagine it (MadMax 1) - relaxed ride on sunny road...then you hit that big red button and bike goes like stink....

I know, I know :) childish....but it's probably cheapest way to make Storm hit 160 bhp at cranckshaft.

I don't think its too childish, supercharging is quite sensible compared to turbo's as the power is much smoother(probably good on a bike).
At approx £2500 is not too expensive either, as for the extra cash you'd get a storm that would be up there with GSXR's etc.
People don't think twice about part exchanging their storm and handing over large amounts of cash to buy something faster, a supercharged storm would also be quite different.

The more I look at the pickys, I do fancy the yellow one

It was really hot wasn't it! Usually go to The Loft once a year with a group.
