There are carbon covers available for the Firestorm, I can't think at the minute who can supply them, may be MandP I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction :!:

This lot sell them, I've never dealt with them but have been tempted to the carbon engine covers.

I've got a set of these
They seem well made and if the evidence of my mates crash is anything to go by they will protect the engine to a point

The point is that having had the std cases off recently I'm amazed at how flimsy and weak they seem.
If I was going down the same route again I'd be inclined to go the route of replacement armoured engine cases.
However, I don't know if anyone does them for the Storm as its not a popular race bike but you could also try R&G coz I'm sure I heard they were developing a range of engine sliders

That said it does appear that decent crash bungs and these cases should be ok for the majority of incidents.
I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!

Not on my bike but on a mates and personally I didn't like 'em
But that said they've saved the plastics from ANY damage in a lose the front slide at edwinas at Mallory
