They are only 55w so I don't think that they will, its just the filament and gas it runs in that makes the difference

I've got 100W rally bulbs in my car and the light from the Osrams is a much whiter light

Ben
I know this is a bit of an old thread but...........

Interesting you have upped the power of the front from a 55 to a 100w bulb.

This had been talked about on some other biking forums but there were 2 points that people had concerns about.

1: the extra heat build up in the headlight unit.
2: the extra power going thru the switch gear (some used a relay)

I guess you find no problems with either of those aspects?

Has anyone else followed your example and upped their bulbs to 100w ones also?

Nooo!!

If you re-red my post again you'll see the Osrams I've put in are only 55W

What I was saying was they are a much brighter light than the 100W ones I have in my car
The 100W's do draw more current which in the car isn't a problem but with the standard VTR rectum-fryer I'd be worried about doing to the storm
Also they do get hot which might be a problem for the VTR lens (I think its plastic not glass but I'm not 100% on that one)

The 55W osrams have none of the problems
I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!

Ahhh, right, sorry, missed that bit :)

Yup, I'm gonna for for either a Osram or Philips 50% brighter bulb then.
Bike lights could always be a lot better.

Not like ye'ole days when (naked bike) you just changed the entire unit for a Cibie replacement and then set fire to the tree's on High Beam :D

From the workshop manual I see thr headlight bulb is a 60/55w bulb.

But what "H" number is it? H4, H2 etc?

I don't have the owners manual with my bike you see :(

Thanks.

I'll look around for a 12v 60/55w H4 50% brighter bulb.

Not sure if Osram or Philips are the best?
Guess they're probably about the same.

Again, cheers for the info.

I don't know what bulbs are in mine I hav'nt changed em since i got the bik. But i always get flashed by car drivers when i'm ridin with it on low beam. It pisses me off abit and all i wanna do is blind em with my full beams  , but i once did that and a copper was sat around the corner with a speed gun and i felt a bit of a prick  .
