Better luck on the forum I'll wager

Post by freeridenick »

I asked this on the Facebook group and it seems folks don't know the difference between a distance collar and wheels spacers. I'm guessing you guys do.

What's the length of the front wheel distance collar? Stripping mine for powder coating I found the bearings right and an alloy collar when it should be steel. The bearings are OK so it could be that they were just pressed in too hard, but it could also be a homemade collar and it's a smidgen too long.

Thanks in advance oh knowledgeable ones.

So it would appear that it's quite a common part fits lots of different Honda's however despite a good look around 't-web cant find the dimensions... Short of pulling one out to have a look, I know theres not one in the spares stash... Spare front wheels yes but that would mean taking a bearing out...

The things you have to do for our fellow brothers

They must be all alloy as that is what this one is made from too, definitely not mild steel/steel.

I know you only asked for the length, but I have given all the dimensions so you can check them as well for piece of mind,

Chris.

Mine measures exactly the same so I'll see what happens when it goes back together.

We must be doing something right then

All I can say is, the front wheel I took that bearing spacer out of is the original wheel that came fitted to the bike when I purchased it, it was 21mths old back then. So I would expect it to be the original OEM wheel, but obviously I can't prove that 100%.

The fact though the dimensions from both spacer match, plus they are both alloy is a very good sign I would say,

I'd expected steel as the rear is that and it's not like the 'Storm is a race rep. If it's the same size that's a plus. I've got a new bearing so I'll be checking it against the existing one for size.
