if you are a toolmaker you should have access to a c spanner for milling collets, find one near the size or check ebay, someone was selling a tool kit the other day, if you havnt got yours.

A pair of hens legs (long handled pliers) also work very well. Put my pre load on to second notch and about to go and have a wee run out. Be back later :D

Yeah, we have some C spanners around. Pot luck as to what size though!

Most of the stuff like that got chucked out as we went over to CNC machines.

But I know we have some of them still. Will take a nose.
I could make one from scratch, but lot of work really.

Gonna hunt in my tool shed and see if can find something.

:!: You could always just use the 'C' spanner for the job in your tool kit for the bike or failing that they should only be a few pounds from your local bike goodies shop

i might be wrong, but looking at the picture i think my rear shock is at the second notch from the top, not the bottom as the pic shows, got me thinking now.
will need to go and look.

In the pic you posted the shock is at the bottom setting,if you look at the setting directly to the right of it,that would be the hardest setting.

Managed to find a LARGE adjustable wrench in the shed (ala a Monkey Wrench) and was just enough room to get around the top and move my adjuster 1 notch up from bottom (now factory setting as notch 2)

Will see how it feels once the dam rain stops!!!

Having been out for a wee jaunt this afternoon I think that I still need one more click of pre load. As said, I'm slightly on the larger side (not too fat  ) so think this will help. Having given it one click so far has helped a bit, just think it could be better.

Oh, and I pulled a belter of a wheelie coming off a roundabout up a hill. No clutch just pure power baby!! 8)

Hmmmm, interesting reading...

How can you tell you need another notch (when riding)

Also (if you don't mind me asking)

How heavy are you (to the nearest pork pie) :D

I'm 12 Stone

Yesterday morning I tipped the scales at 14 stone 12 pounds

I reckon it needs another click because although it does feel better than before it is still a bit soft mid corner. It's gonna be a case of trial and error really.

I aint no bike suspension expert but I'm not afraid to try something new and if it works great, if not, go back to what it was.
