I bought a 1998 firestorm on Thursday and ran out of fuel on Friday.
143 miles from full and after rescue from the motorway I could only get 15 ltres in it to bring it back to full. After what I have read on this site I think I wlll fit a VFR tank. Is it possible to use the vfr sender unit and fit a fuel gauge?
Any information would be appreciated.
tank swop, fitting a fuel gauge?
Welcome,
Did your little red light not work ??
If you want to fit a VFR tank theres stuff on here from people that have done it just search using the search button at the top.
or on the American site

Using the VFR sender is a good idea coz it fits the tank (although the VTR works too, you just have to mess about with the float setting)
As far as a fuel gauge goes, it shouldn't be impossible to rig up, the only difficulty is gonna be the gauge
All the fuel tank bit does is vary the resistance output, then its up to the gauge to decide to light a light if it increases to a certain value (VTR) or display the output as a pretty LCD display (VFR) or conventional gauge

I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!
