Any thoughts about bobbins? As normal drill and thread but what about drilling all the way through to the other side of th SA then tap all the way . Long screw all the way (with lock nut . ?)
Don't know how wide the SA is .

You don't need to. Although the material wall thickness isn't much it's plenty strong enough- but for safety I use a fine thread, there's more tensile strength.
I check chain tension by asking the wife to sit on the bike on the rear paddock stand so the bobbins take all of the weight.
There's never been a problem, so they are strong enough fitted like that.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
