which paint job?

Post by sean-emmett »

hi, over the winter i was going to have all stone chips and a small dent on my firestorm repaired and painted.

but nowi am thinking of have a race style paint job. but which one?

i really like the v&m bikes but not sure if this would suit the firestorm. they did run honda bikes a few years ago.

the firestorm performace bikes raced in bsb a few years back is nice, yellow with silver fairing. what do you think?

and last there is the hydrex honaa scheme as in bsb.

what do you think would look the best?

cheers

what do people think of having the v&m scheme on a firestorm? do you think it would look all wrong?

my only other real like are the redbull clour bikes and the firestorm revolution raced in bsb back in 2000.

just not sure what to go with guys.

cheers

Stealth black with gold wheels!
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

V&M isn't bad -the only problem is its half yellow so it'll make the bike both common and slow!!

This one is similar too

I like the older red bull Ducati's, but not sure about the Revolution firestorm -it looks like they've left the primer on (but then again there's a lot of silver firestorms out there anyway   )
It was that one you were thinking wasn't it -silver with yellow belly pan and wheels?

Or this one?

My two pence worth on a colour scheme is that it's very much a personal choice :!: As for race rep schemes IMO the bike at a later date when that colour scheme is no longer being used or the rider has retired will make it harder to sell :!: only my thought's

just bear in mind that most informed buyers, and certainly those reading bike mags, will see a custom paint job as an indicator of the bike being damaged at some point

so if its your intention to sell anytime soon, i'd stick to a "normal" paint scheme
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

hi, yeah i was thinking of the yellow and silver revolution bike colours.

ive now seen a purple and yellow smokin joes firestorm and quite like the purple and yellow together. if i do this i will use my own choice of decals and not smokin joe ones.

failing that ill keep it standard to sell.

Strangely no, the storm and the nelli complement each other too well, the only problem I get is the difference in the braking. the Brembo's on the nelli are vicious compared to the storm. I am considering trying to get them to fit the storm as the calipers are just over £100 each but work sooo much better.
