Paint Colour Code - the Early 1997 Yellow?

Post by Tempest »

Have looked under my seat, but the last character of my colour code is a bit hard to read.

It's Y-124P

It's the "P" on the end I'm not 100% sure about.

Could be a "F" I guess?

Anyone with a 97 (ish) the early "darker yellow I believe) storm, able to clarify for me?

I had the same colour code on my P reg storm
Thanks....

As I said, the last character looks like it might be a "P"

But I've not idea what the OTHER colour codes are.
It may be obvious, P=Yellow R=Red, B=Black.

Mind you, what P and Yellow have to do with each other I've no idea!

I think you'll find that the Y is for yellow and the P is for pearl.
From what I can remember the colour is named "Pearl shining Yellow " or something like that. Y124P

Excellent :)

Many thanks to all for confirming the paint colour.

Very much appreciated.

(And the links for the actual paint intself)

Halfords (yes, I know :( )
Say they can mix paint if the colour code is in their books.

Gave me some samples to look thru, and a Ducati Yellow looked a near perfect match to the seat tail cover I took in.
But said I'd try and find the code and they would look on their system.

£9.99 a tin.

Call me stupid if you like, but if I decide to get a tin, I'm a bit wary if I should try and get the "Officially" correct colour without seeing it., or get the Ducati Yellow which actually LOOKED the same in the colour samples which I was assured were exactly as the colours actually come out.

Thanks. Got the pic.
Bit difficult to judge 100% due to angle and lighting, but looks good (lovely bike)
My wheels are also yellow, but they don't match the bike colour 100% (they are a bit light)

But as you say, The Ducati Yellow looked spot on (Halfords paint chart against my VTR seat tail cover)

I will go back and get the code for the Ducati colour anyway, as It would be good for people on here to know what to ask for as Halfords is easy for most people.
