Has everyone changed their suspension settings?

Have you all changed your settings or are happy with the stock setup on the suspension?
I'm not sure what to do with mine. It feels hard in the rear suspension.
As far as I can tell its stock int he setup.
I guess I'd like to soften it up a bit.
I'm 90kilos so what would be a good starting point ont he rear setup?

Throw it in the bin!!!

Its a crappy unit and is oversprung as standard
It is possible to fit a softer spring if you're really skint but the better option is to get a second hand aftermarket one

Also worth checking though is that the linkages are nicely greased and move freely.
They come from the factory with bugger all grease on and can seize in record time. I stripped and greased mine a couple of years ago when I still had the std shock and it did make the ride noticeably more compliant

Failing that, you could always try eating lots of pies or always carrying a pillion -it works much better then

Pies are very good, especially stuffed full of dead animals, thats how I keep my weight up.

i noticed on my yellow vtr that the suspension was way too hard even on the softest setting.however,the red one i just got has a white power shock and maxton sorted forks,,,even the clipons are comfy with this set up!!i just dial the settings on the shock and even for my 11stone weight its plush!!sorted.

Jake I fitted a Maxton spring to my rear shock and although I actually picked mine up 2nd hand, I would say if money is tight for around £50 for a new one it would be money well spent I couldn't believe how much better the bike handles

The only trouble for you would be the postage cost

Well, having been the above mentioned ( Best Colour ) Firestorm I'd agree with what Tony says.

Before buying Tony's Firestorm, I'd read all about the front end being squashy, so was a bit supprised when Tony told me he had the bike set to soft and was fine (seemed to go against what's been said)

After owning the bike a few days, I adjusted the settings to some recommended values on here, and it was way to hard.

I put settings back to standard, and it still seems quite hard at the front end.

when braking the front dips (as you would expect) but I'd say when cornering, it's noticable, as the front appears to bounce on rough roads rather than soak up the bumps.

I know a couple of people owned the bike before Tony, so I was wondering if one of these may have had something done to the bike?

Is there anyway of finding out?

Without having much (any) experience with this kinda thing I find it impossible to tell, and have nothing to compair it with.
