ZZR 1200?

Post by simon t »

With the possibility of doing some big distances and the feeling that the SV (sorry) isn't the most comfortable thing on the planet for me or the pillion, I may be looking at going the sports-tourer route.

I've seen a ZZR 1200 with a genuine 600 miles on the clock and £500 worth of GIVI boxes for £5500. This sounds like a good deal to me. Any of you got experience of this bike - economy, insurance, reliability handling etc?

And yes I know that like the Storm it's no longer cutting edge (see 'Rider Power survey' posts elsewhere) but I want an all rounder which will also scratch, rather than a elbow-in-the-air rocketship.

A local guy had one for a while and was never happy with the suspension, he never felt happy round the cornerery bits. He eventually got rid. Give it a good riding before commiting yourself, it may have just been him but he has had a few bikes and rides well, just couldnt get on with it ...

Agree cheap blackbird is great, 5mm spacer on top of rear shock, and you will have a ball.
it may be clever, but its not big.
