Hi-Level Cans
Hi-Level Cans
I have just fitted hi-level scorpions (boy are they loud without the baffles in, sounds like a V twin should sound, although curtains have started twitching!). However, the cans are snagging the rear indicators, solved by getting smaller ones, but they are also very close to the rear number plate holder, I have ordered a smaller 7 x 5 plate but this still leaves a lump of ugly black plastic quite close to the cans. Any suggestions welcome, my plan at the moment is to cut away the offending plastic with a dremmel and smooth any rough edges with wet and dry but I don't want it to look crap!
I cut away all the plastic and fitted an undertray & 7x5 plate, big improvement and pretty easy job, see this pic (if it works)

Big Dad,
Excellent choice in my opinion, are yours the round or oval type
as I have the same set up as you in the oval (except they are race cans, no baffles) and yes the cans are close to the standard number plate
I bent the brackets that support the cans outwards slighty before attaching the clamp to them
It sounds like yours are the round type being so close to the black plastic so probably an undertray as Skidonald suggested would be best. The black plastic on my bike is cut of level with the bottom of the standard number plate.

Chris.
How close are we talking here, I can get my fingers in between the cans and black plastic but not my hand on my bike, I don't really think Scorpion would expect anyone to have to fit an undertray just to stop the can's touching the black plasticBig Dad wrote:Thanks guys, I have fitted the oval cans, but still very close to the plastic even after I have fitted the new plate (still waiting for it). Where is the best place for undertrays?
