From what i understand, Honda produced both the SP1 & SP2 for the racing market, which i guess is one of the reasons why they aren’t too concerned about the erratic low speed fuel injection problem.
I've got to say the SP2 is a tad smoother through town than the 1, but its still nowhere near being good. I guess it doesn’t help it much is that both bikes as standard are quite high geared.
Still, its all forgotten when you do pick up speed so you just either learn to live with it or void built up areas. In all fairness i don’t really find it that much of an issue now, its just a pain to begin with when your first learning how to ride the bike .... Still wouldn’t change it for the world tho !!

Nice one Jag,
How are you getting on with her? I'll definatley be up for a ride out with You, Wroey and anyone else who might fancey a little trip Just give us a nod when.
What do you think of the Blue Flames, they look good in the pic do you have a power commander fitted as well?

Ahaaa! Another convert, good man. Love the paint scheme! I fitted a power commander and it has already paid itself off with the fuel that i have saved. I now get about 130 miles to a tank! Get yourself one, it also smoothes out some of the nasty fuel glitches that you get at low revs.
Don't think that i will be getting the GSXR 1000 after all, i still love my SP1!
BTW, I am back from the 'raq. It was real good fun..... not. Few close shaves but nothing that a few beers won't make me forget. Had my first proper blast on the old girl again today (and the bike
). Felt really good and the 18000 mile service has done it the power of good. The brakes are awesome again as well.

Glad to see you kept your head down.
We've been starting up quite a nice little SP clan whilst you've been gone, glad you're back so you can join in the fun![]()

Just out of interest Mellis, where abouts do you live ? There have been suggestions made about a southern meet in the new year if you fancy it ?
Am in Surrey for the next week then i move to Germany for a couple of years. But the bike will stay here for the Winter with the father in-law who will look after it. The German winters don't really let you do anything on two wheels so it might as well stay here. But i will still be on the forum so plan away and keep me in the loop and i am sure that a quick thrash across Europe will allow me to join in with your plans.
