Ok guys need some help i need to get my bike to Nottingham for my exhausts to be altered by J.A.C Daz Sears's mate.
Will have to load into a transit van which i'm not that comfortable with so just some advice how to make it secure for the journey unless anyone has a trailer i could borrow.
thanks Alan
Bike Transport Help
My only points to mention are to use the hill outside your gate, park van facing downhill so the ramp you use is at a lower angle.
Also, park the bike in gear so it doesn't roll around.
You can also park it on the right hand side of the van so you can turn the bars away from the side and whack the steering ignition lock on.
Best ratchet strap points are swinging arm and headstock, and you'll want some blankets or something to save scratches.

Voted most likely to be found dead in park bushes following an act of autoerotic asphyxiation.

Alan,
Not as much of a worry as you'd think
Roll it in to the front right (offside) corner of the van and put the steering on full left luck
Then you can lean the bar end against the wall
Put it in gear
Put one ratchet strap from the roof bulkhead to a tie down point on the floor, (or onto a footrest bracket) NB Put an old cushion or towel etc under the strap if its gonna be touching paintwork
This will stop it moving away from the wall
Put another strap up, through the subframe gap and back down again to stop the bike moving backwards under the phenomenal acceleration of a transit van!!
If you're at all worried, go the first couple of miles in the back with the bike so you can reassure yourself there's no problems with it
Or better still, put a nice comfy armchair in the back and pass the journey in comfort while your mate drives
Alternatively, if you're going on your own, stop and make sure all the straps are tight and nothing's moved after a couple of miles
Then you're mind is free to concentrate on the important part of van driving -act like a complete, selfish, blind, arrogant w@nker!!

But its not a very good one!

Cheers everyone for the tips will probably go with the van now instead of searching for a trailer.
I was thinking of a mattress Ben rather than a chair you never know what will pop up
