My speedo has gone funny

I washed my bike friday and went out for a blast today but the speedo stopped working? so I stopped fiddled about with the wires set of again and it worked up to 30mph then stopped again, every time I stopped and pulled off in first gear it worked upto 30-40mph the stopped again, anyone got any clues?

Ok just done a search and found out more info :oops:

No mistake I meant that I should have done a search first, all the info is there, I will check all the connectors and sensor tomorrow.
