Using the same heatsink paste as we fit to all our Xeon & Opteron processor helped my "New" standard reg transfer more heat to the frame.
A gentle run down with v fine emery, a v good clean down and the the heatsink paste.

Went down the R6 route, fitted and working. Was hoping the original would look a bit suspect but it looks like it was quite happy. I wouldn't be surprised if the ones that give up the ghost are fitted to bikes where the quality control wasn't as thorough. eg, yellow and red ones

Yeah probably true as the yellow and red ones are so much faster and therefore harder for the QC people to catch!!!

Only I've only been checking this forum out (being a relatively new Storm lover) for a short time I've come to the conclusion that a lot of peeps on here(ie:the yellow or red owners) are bonkers
