OK. So how many modifications have YOU made?

Post by LotusSevenMan »

Just considering what mods we all make to our VTR's and started thinking what I'd done in two months of ownership. It already had a chain oiler, double bubble screen, 6mm raise plate under rear top damper fixing, fender extender, removeable clock on velcro, Scorpion cans, hugger and a one less tooth front sprocket when I got it.

In no particular order:-

Handlebar raisers (19mm).
R/R to Yamaha R6 one (as per the sticky).
Remote activated talking (!) alarm system and immobilisor.
Heated handlebar grips.
Digital gear indicator.
Ultrabright 6 x LED's position light 'bulb'.
Tinted headlight cover.
50% more light headlight bulb.
Wider (100mm) extensions on mirrors.

How about the rest of you?
PS Edits due to remembering more bits as I think about it!!!

Bugger all really the bike is pretty good straight out of the box. Just changed the cans so it sounds as it should have from the start and binned the restrictive exhausts.

Fitted Skidmarx lowers as 'storms never quite look "finished" with the standard fairing bottom cowl.

  yes just need to change the rear seat unit for something special and maybe get the vfr750 10 spoke rear wheel as they did a 5.5 inch wheel on later model.

I think once you start to modify it goes on and on well it does in my case  but then i have always done it to my bikes.

There are lots of mods here and very few are the same as other peoples!!!
Rather like my beloved Lotus/Caterham Sevens. All look similar but mainly all are very different to suit the individuals needs and tastes!!! :)

Alan,

nope but I can get them, you cut out the rear light holes and an MV rear light bolts in and if you cut the hole out for the seat a 916bip seat will slot in too, buy the brackets and stuff and then it will flip up like a std 916 item.

What did you do about the subframe?
