I have found that the sidestand 'footprint' area is pretty small compared with similar Triumphs, Suzukis etc. If you have to leave it on damp ground beware; they sink in big time. I now carry a little plastic prop stand dish (free from the "Ride with Attitude" group at the Kent County Show) that travels under the seat retained by the tool kit 'O' ring.

My back garden is clay and when wet is, err, pretty sticky.
Local 1st World war re-enactment society want to use it as the Somme!!!!
So, I have a large piece of aluminium chequerplate on the grass to help in stopping my pride and joy toppling over.
I can't be alone 'cos see here

Tempted to weld on a better 'disc' to increase the area of the stand. Maybe it's just me/my garden!!!

Another thing about having the trike is that he/she could use these here

You ought to try the sidestand on my TDM900. Hardly any lean angle and doesn't point far forward enough. Try parking on a slight downhill gradient and forward she goes!

Aaggggh.
Not good Stratman.
I would like more lean angle on the VTR really to get a decent three point contact triangle for best stability. I modified my Suzuki to do that but at least it had a centre stand too!!!!!

At least here in Norfolk I don't have to wonder about the gradient too much

fair point, it is a bit of a pin-point now you come to mention it!

Thats exactly what the previous owner of mine has done. Nothing too big, its about 1 1/4" - 1 1/2" Diameter. Seems to be fine, but I always carry a 'MudMate' plastic disc as well.

My mates Ducati 900SS recently rolled off its stand and he was lucky to get away with just a few scuffs
