standard exhaust or after market?
standard exhaust or after market?
I am getting my 98 storm rebuilt with high comp pistons gas flowed head dyno jet and K and N. I like the standard exhaust note but will I need to put on a straight through such as a blue fame evo? I am concerned about making the bike too noisy. Also looking at the ignition advance thread would this help? I use shell V power already so I do not mind if I have to run on high octane fuel. Any adivice from anyone who knows about modifying storms would be appreciated.
pipes
You would be better with aftermarket pipes with all the work you are doing as for the exhaust note i have blue flame evos they come with removable baffles.
You will have wasted your money if you only use the standard Firestorm can's as they are soooo restricted, to meet ever increasing emission regulations.
In my experience any restrictions on the straight through race style can will be a restriction on maximum power from the setup you have, once your bike is finished.
After saying that some straight through can's are louder than others

Well, just finished test fitting them to make sure everything is ok.
Will strip them off again tomorrow, clean and sand everything, paste them up and secure them properly.
Pics and maybe even a vid by end of Sunday.
(tip, backfiring race cans in garages are LOUD!)
