Fantastic looking eh? Betcha pleased. Now you need the good weather
Just wondered. Do bikes these days need chain guards? I remember a mate being pulled over by the police many, many years ago with a T500 Cobra (Suzuki 500 twin two-stroke to you youfs) as it didn't have a guard. He had to quickly fabricate one from chequer plate at our works to keep 'em happy.

Far as I know, most coppers won't know. Traffic cops might grumble if you act like a d*ck. MOT testers will grumble.
More importantly, I value my left leg. I've seen the mess a snapped chain can make of a metal engine casing, so a squishy leg wouldn't bear thinking about.

Voted most likely to be found dead in park bushes following an act of autoerotic asphyxiation.
A very good point there Kitch, I've often thought the same thing myself, and the fact that the standard chain guards of today's big bikes are all mainly made of plastic, (I know most big bike chains of today don't have a split link in them, just as well) and will be of little use in keeping the chain away from your leg if it should break!Kitch wrote: More importantly, I value my left leg.
