It is exactly that stationary drop that I'm interested in surviving! You know, the foot on the gravel as you paddle the bike backwards in a tight spot and over-ya-go situation with one leg outstretched and the fairing just touching down.
Nah, never done that

A largish off with it sliding and doing damage etc is what I pay fully comprehehsive insurance for!!!

ARHHH i never knew that Alan! If i still had some nice fairings to save i would replace them but tbh my bike gets so much abuse id rather spend the cash on fuel!

Goes to show i should of spent the extra few £££ and got some good ones in the 1st place, theres a lesson there!!

Aren't these the ones?

Seem all right for that tiny touchdown, foot slip & drop situation.

:?

Now I'm confused - They are the same as the ones I was looking at at the beginning of the thread :!:

I take it the conclusion is that the small ones are OK for a drop type situation, but that DHM's or similar are more use in a ooops I just lost the front at 60mph type scenario.

right now i see what your getting at ...yes OEM indicators do stick out more than the little shrooms but replacement indicators are cheaper than a respray!!! with the flush indicators the little shrooms stand out a tad farther than them and the "fins" on the fairing are a tad shallower than the little shrooms fitted at the bottom.. so i reckon in an oops kind of situation they are deffo a fairing saver IMHO of course.. and the bar end caps will probably hit first anyway....
