Nurburgring video

Post by sirch345 »

I know some of you have done this circuit, but I had not even seen it on video until recently, so I thought some of you might like to take a look yourselves :!:

Only thing is it's 10min's long :!:

Cheers Alan, I hadn't got around to watching the Doohan and Speedfreak one, but I have now :D 8) I see what you mean about nearly coming a cropper, it's just over a minute into the video, very, very well saved :!:

I believe the Ring doesn't have the best safety record, but as you say it would still be good just to have a few laps around it :!:

I've done an 8:43 and have only ever done 10 laps
Absolutely love the place and wish I could go more often

I would kill to have a go round that!

as said, theres been some NASTY crashs on the ring, a lot has to do with the fact some of the road surface is really very bad apparently! The weird writing you see on the track is graffiti from local kids as the tracks easy to get onto at night!

*thinks we should all plan a trip over there!*

Ben - you might be able to do an 8.43 but you're a pretty handy rider. It's been about 6 years since I went but my best time was about 9.50 after a dozen laps. People regularly come a cropper (or worse) trying to knock 5 seconds off a lap or trying to 'rescue' a laptime after getting held up by traffic, I'd recommend anyone going just to forget the laptime and concentrate on the task in hand!

Great place, saw some incredible stuff....watching an old vauxhall astra passing a porsche GT3 uphill (both came past me and I was doing 140 at the time)...passing a Ferrari 355 then getting passed myself by an old golf TDi...passing a coach at indicated 150mph (me not the coach)

It's a weird place - doesn't really matter what you're riding/driving, knowledge of the circuit is everything. Go there before they close it (sooner or later they will).

Short clip with a Yammy R1 biker and a beloved Caterham 7 (only a little 'un making 138BHP. The R500's make 230bhp so imagine..................) + 500bhp M5.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... ng&pl=true

Also a Caterham with 5 hp more than mine has (b45t4rd  ).
Scroll down for video.
Bikes actually get in the way!!! Not bad two up either as a 7.58 lap!!!
