Model engines are never cheap!

LMS or LSM?

I can't help going back onto youtube and listening to it!!! I have seen the manual for building it (it is a kit, not a completed built item on arrival). Timing has to be set for each cylinder 3* BTDC. Great.

Oops  LSM you know who I mean anyway :!:

I must say I would feel a sense of achievement myself, building it from scratch rather than it turning up already built 8) Especially the first time I fired it up after building it, sad or what

guys, 90% of steam models are milled by hand to plans! Thats why they are so expensive!

Type "steam + turner" into ebay and have a look :-)

Anyone old enough to remember the Mamod traction engines? How cool were they? i am 42 and my ma and pa still have mine at theirs.

I want one of these please Santa http://www.gyroscope.com/d.asp?product=4CYLINDER
I didn't realise it, that is until I took Squiffy's advice and looked up a Mamod traction engine on Ebay, that the little steam engine I had when I was a kid was just that :!: So my answer to your question Timbo is yes I do remember them, I wish I still had mine :!:

Well, I got my 'V' twin through the post on Friday.
Wonderful sound for a while when running then...................................... it just slowed and stopped. Out of gas? Nope. It had bl%dy well seized a crankshaft bearing!!! It just locked up solid. Dismantled it and freed off the ball race but not happy at all. It's still too stiff to hold the three degree ignition advance. Emails to the supplier who agreed to take it back etc.
Waited in all day today for a courier company to collect it as advised by the supplier.
Guess what? They haven't arrived as of 8.30pm so I guess they ain't coming!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
